Colon & Rectal Cancer Surveillance and Survivorship Clinic

Surveillance after colon or rectal cancer can be complex.  Our oncologist-led clinic will arrange for all blood tests, CT scans and colonoscopies for you as recommended by Alberta Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Bloodwork

  • Arrange for CEA bloodtest to be done every 3-6 months for 5 years

Imaging

  • Arrange for a CT scan of your chest, abdomen and pelvis at 12 months, 24 months, and 36 months (if needed)

Colonoscopies

  • Arrange for a colonoscopy at 12 months, and every 3-5 years afterwards
 
We can also manage your long-term side effects of treatment, which may have included surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
